Bubble Tea is a drink originating in Taiwan. It was popularized in the 1980's and in the last years, European countries have gotten a hold of this trend too. The drink is tea-based and in most restaurants, a milk powder is added to it. Here at Morsel Bao we serve the delicious Boba with fresh milk from Arla! To this mixture we add Tapioca which is the black pearls you can see in the bottom of the glass! For the perfect bubble tea, we add brown sugar for sweetness. We offer Bubble tea ice-cold or hot, but we believe it to have a better taste when served ice-cold. That makes it a perfect drink for summer in Denmark!
A little bit of history: Bubble tea shops can be found all over Taiwan and now all over the world. In the 1980's there were a lot of tea shops offering tea to Elementary school students after their school hours. With increasing popularity, the shop owners started offering different flavors that can be added to their tea. When adding flavor, the tea and flavoring needed to be shaken well for a good all around taste. This formed bubbles in the drink, which came to be known as "Bubble Tea." Later on, the Tapioca pearls were added to this mixture, meaning that now there are bubbles on top and on the bottom. Over the years, the Bubble tea became even more popular among all ages and is now also trending in other countries like Denmark.
